Swords and Stories is an organization built on the belief that chivalry and the Virtues of Knighthood still exist. Through our various projects and teams, we strive to present to the world the idea that Knighthood is alive and well inside each and every one of us.
These Virtues are tested every year in the annual Tournament of Virtues, where the Faerie Queen Glorianna and her mother Tanaquil watch over knightly combat to decide this year’s Champion of Virtue! Our Tournament characters are based off the Quest Knights of Virtue as written by Edmund Spenser – with a little creative liberty taken of course since the entire saga was never finished!
Our Squire School show teaches the Virtues of Knighthood to a younger audience. Children attending the faire (ages 8 to 14) can join us on the tournament field and get trained in the basics of knightly combat techniques! Should they prove themselves worthy, they can become official Squires of Virtue and be knighted by the Redcrosse Knight himself!
